The Rome-Floyd County Fire Department offers the following opportunities for visits to and/or from the Fire Department.
Visit a Fire Station
Discover the opportunity for educational and community groups to visit a Fire Station. Your group will be able to see where the firefighters live while they are on their 24-hour shift. A tour of the trucks and equipment is also available. All group visit requests must be submitted with at least 2 weeks' advance notice.
Fire Engine Visit to a School
Public and private school teachers can request an Engine Company of 3-4 firefighters to visit their school for the purposes of fire safety education. This program provides 50 to 60 minutes of interactive fire and life safety presentations. Students will interact with the firefighters and learn how to "get low and go", learn about their safety gear and climb through the fire truck. A fire and life safety educator will also accompany the engine company. To be eligible, schools must be pre-school (non-residential) through high school and located in Rome and Floyd County. Requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the visit.
Fire Department Participation at a Community Event
This opportunity is for community event organizers to request the presence of a Fire Engine Company. To be eligible, events must be held at a non-residential location within Floyd County. Requests must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the date of the event.
