The Special Operations Unit is comprised of officers specially-trained in various aspects of law enforcement: DUI enforcement, Motors, Accident Reconstruction, School Resource Officers, and Child Passenger Safety Technicians. Our SWAT and Mobile Field Force Teams also train and deploy under the Special Operations Unit. The Unit services the community in three major areas: enforcement actions, public information, and community education. Enforcement actions include DUI patrols, speed enforcement details, distracted driving enforcement periods, and seat belt enforcement zones. These efforts are carried out in conjunction with Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) mobilization periods.
