2023 City SPLOST Projects
Floyd County, City of Rome and City of Cave Spring citizens and organizations voted to pass the 2023 Special Project Local Option Tax (SPLOST) referendum. A citizen committee determined which projects were added to the referendum for the November 2023 election. Provided below are city projects on the 2023 SPLOST.

| City of Rome Clocktower Structural Repair | $800,000 | $739,198 | $60,802 | 2025 | Contractor determined the cause of lean and made necessary repairs to mitigate future leaning. A substantial amount of paint has been removed, new timbers have been installed, and it has been painted. All exterior trim pieces in need of replacement have been addressed. The exterior has been primed and painted and roofing has been completed. Exterior tower doors are being restored. New clock hands and electronic clock control mechanisms installed and new bell striker in place. A tentative ribbon cutting dedication will be held on November 17, 2025. |

Sizing and placement of the required lift station(s) to include structural and electrical design are pending on area prospects (end users). Engineering and staff are also evaluating other sewer options for the service area. |

Replaced base radios for all fire facilities and purchased new, portable bluetooth compatible radios that sync with new self-contained breathing apparatus. New self-contained breathing apparatus purchased and in-service. 1 brush truck purchased and in-service. Training projects underway and ongoing. | |

We have purchased land at Riverside Parkway and Riverside Industrial and plan for the future permanent home of Rome PD on this site, with solicitation of an architect underway. |
